Bundles

A category sorts titles by what the game is like. A bundle sorts them by what the player is dealing with. The two answer different questions: a category tells you the kind of game, while a bundle asks how much time you have left, how many fingers are free, and whether somebody is sitting beside you.

Why this is kept apart from the categories

Someone pulling out a phone while waiting for a bus is not hunting a genre; they want anything that finishes before the bus arrives. The same goes for an adult sitting next to a small child, who needs something where a wrong tap produces nothing frightening. Conditions like those cut straight across every genre, so bundles reach freely between categories. One title can belong to several bundles at once, and plenty belong to none.

Chosen by hand, not by formula

We do not let a script sweep titles into a bundle based on the tags that arrived with them. A tag says what kind of game it is; it says nothing about whether one thumb is enough or how long a round lasts. Those calls need a person, and that person has to answer for whether the contents match what the bundle name promised.

Where this stands today

The structure is in place, but no bundle has been switched on for this site yet. Releasing half-filled sets to make the place look bigger is not something we are willing to do. In the meantime, the quickest route to something playable is the categories page, or the search box if you already remember a name.
